I'm a hard-working tech-lover from the west of Scotland. I have a wide array of skills, and I believe anyone working in web, code, or marketing should understand the creative and technical side of things to achieve the best outcomes.
Easy to manage and self-driven, I have worked in places where you need to be multidisciplinary to succeed. I bring creative and technical experience and experience in coding, design, marketing, general IT, and communication.
I'm happy working by myself or as part of a wider team. Every job in the modern day has a technical element, and I believe my skills could be helpful to any department in any organisation in the country today.
I have already experienced and achieved a lot in my short career to date, and now I'm ready to take the next step with a new organisation. I'd be happy to carry on somewhere new, building on the skills I already have, but I'd be equally open to a new challenge that is entirely new and fresh to me.
Here I advanced my knowledge in software and database development. I also learned more about networks, web development and software testing. I took an introduction to psychology as an optional course, and I was a guinea pig for the first-ever online video streaming class delivered in a Scottish University. I was also the student rep for two of the years I was here.
At Reid Kerr (now West College Scotland), I learned many things, including multimedia software, user experience design, coding, computing and data related legislation and how computing hardware works. Although not on the curriculum, a lecturer talked me through my first ever computer build while I was here.
This was an entire marketing course delivered remotely by Glasgow Kelvin College. It covered analytics, paid ads, social media, audience segmentation and many other aspects of online marketing (and some traditional marketing elements).
This was an intensive one-day social media marketing class. I have taken part in a couple of these in the past ten years, which I found helpful as social media was a lot different ten years ago from what it is today. It was delivered remotely by NS Design partnering with Napier University and covered the latest and most popular social media platforms of the day, and discussed how they promote businesses.
NOTE: There's more! I have attended more courses, training sessions and conferences than I can remember, covering anything from counter terrorism to child safety and SharePoint 365 management.
I also make sure to keep my relevant Google Academy certificates up-to-date.
